Welcome to the dawn of the new Italian Renaissance. The March of Rome has just achieved its aims, and Mussolini, the fearless leader, has been made Prime Minister by the King of Italy. It is a new era, a time to restore law and order to Italy, to, so to speak, get the trains running on time, and prove to the world that Italy is the greatest empire the earth has or will ever see. In order to do so, Italy must embrace the National Fascist Party in entirety. Her citizens must prove themselves as exemplary among the European nations, and exude strength both in the domestic sphere and in our foreign policy. Italy must expand its borders and its influence, and seize what should be rightfully hers. For centuries she has been a nation of artisans, but now she must become a nation of warriors and industrialists, independent and autonomous. Italy must be able to stand alone, self-sufficient, for the Italian Machine must never stop running. Italy will face many anti-Fascist threats, both Communist and Liberal. The country need address the Papal Question, bringing harmony within the borders and rebuilding the relationship between the two closest of entities, Italy and her Church. Europe is undergoing radical transformations and Italy must be at the forefront of the New World Order, prepared to counter any incursion. Remember always, Credere, Obbedire, Combattare, Believe, Obey, Fight! And Viva il Duce, Long Live the Leader!

Elliott Snyder is a third year in the college, majoring in History. For him, becoming a history major was not simply an academic choice, but truly a confirmation of a way of life. A Europhile, he is delighted to delve into the machinations of a pre-World War II Italy. When not mooching off the generous hospitality of his friends, Elliott enjoys all the finer aspects of life, including Jim Dale's narrations of Harry Potter and extended editions of all great fantasy films. He is eager to see the nation of Italy brought to a new epoch of greatness.
